Solar Gardens / Community Solar Live in an apartment , townhome, or condo?  Want the advantages of SOLAR power but don't want to install panels on your roof ?  Then Solar Gardens are for you!  A solar garden is a solar electric system with multiple members connected to the utility grid. The members  purchase a portion of the power produced by the array and receive a credit on their electric bill. A community SOLAR system can be hosted on a school, library, house of worship, or community center. Investors within the community pool their resources to build the solar array and sell power at a discount to the host. The investors typically receive a direct payment rather than an electric bill credit.

• Subscribing customers purchase or lease shares of a solar garden system developed by a system owner. Generally, owners will be developers, municipalities or other organizations in the community.
• The system owner is responsible for subscriber management such as signing up subscribing customers, collecting payment and interfacing with subscribers.
• Subscribing customers will receive credit on their bill for the energy produced by the system. See “Production Credit” below.
• Subscribers in a Solar*Rewards Community garden must be Xcel Energy retail electricity customers.
